The project is designed at Q40 probability of exceedance with a design discharge of 2.27 m3/s. The company was established on 7 April 2013 as a private firm and converted to a public limited company on 15 July 2021. The project commenced commercial operation on 24 December 2019, ahead of its scheduled date, at a total cost of about NPR 1,101 million (around NPR 245 million per MW), financed at a debt-equity ratio of roughly 66:34. Electricity is supplied to the national grid through the Nepal Electricity Authority.
