Nepal SBI Bank Limited is a Kathmandu-based 'A' class commercial bank, with its head office at Hattisar, Kathmandu. It commenced operations in July 1993 as the first Indo-Nepal joint venture in Nepal's financial sector, originally sponsored by the State Bank of India (SBI), Employees Provident Fund and Agricultural Development Bank of Nepal. It is a subsidiary of the State Bank of India, which holds a 55% majority stake, with Employees Provident Fund holding 15% and the general public the remaining 30%. The bank has a wholly owned subsidiary, Nepal SBI Merchant Banking Limited (NSMBL), established in 2016. It operates a nationwide branch and ATM network providing full commercial banking services.
